The robber went into the station in the 2900 block of South State Street about 3 a.m. Tuesday, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, Ann Arbor police said in a media release.

The robber left in a minivan, but an officer spotted a vehicle matching its description and arrested a 29-year-old man from Ypsilanti Township. Police found the stolen money and a gun, the release stated.

No one was injured. Police continue to investigate. No other information was immediately available.

Pittsfield Township police said Monday they were investigating whether two other gas station robberies in the last few days were related.

Police arrested a 25-year-old Sebewaing, Mich. man after he was accused of brandishing a shotgun during a robbery at a BP gas station near Washtenaw Avenue and Golfside Drive Monday morning, three days after a BP gas station was robbed on Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor on Saturday.

In both cases, the suspect was a masked white man with a long gun who walked in and demanded money. The suspect escaped on Saturday, fleeing south on Yost Boulevard, Ann Arbor police said.

The suspect on Monday wasn't so lucky. He attempted to flee in a vehicle, but quickly got hemmed in by traffic. Pittsfield Township police arrested him after a short foot chase.

Pretty sure I missed the countywide proclaimation that June is "tip over an area gas station" month.

I sort of hope these are all related and the police have got the suspect in custody, as opposed to having 2 more armed robbers still running around.
