Grade the Wolverines: Your chance to rate Michigan's performance against Illinois
Daniel Brenner | AnnArbor.com
Michigan football writer Kyle Meinke passed out grades and -- surprise, surprise -- almost everyone made the honor roll.
Now it's your chance to grade the Wolverines.
Offense
Denard Robinson ran wild and was efficient in the passing game. Michigan scored early and often and was able to have its way with the Fighting Illini basically from start to finish.
Defense
Led by linebacker Jake Ryan's 11 tackles 1.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles Michigan beat up Illinois and walked away with a shutout.
Special Teams
When the other team only kicks off once, it's hard to get a gauge on the kick return game. Brendan Gibbons was solid once again and Michigan returned three punts for 56 yards.
Coaching
Tough to criticize the guys making the decisions when the team wins 45-0...or is it?
Overall
Put it all together, and what do you get?

Was hoping for something like this on both sides of the ball. Given the rain, I was glad Michigan didn't turn the ball over more. The Michigan Defense played a bruising game. They are starting to inflict pain on their opponents. Denard played very well and did what he had to. Tailback by committee was super. Give 'em all some meaningful snaps. Michigan is emotionally and physically ready to hand it to Sparty. Their tailspin is another story. No tears shed, here. GO BLUE!!!
