What does a folk legend eat when he's on the road? If the folk legend is Loudon Wainwright III and he's in Ann Arbor, you might find him eating a sandwich at Zingerman's Deli.

The quirky musician, sometimes actor and patriarch of the Wainwright dynasty of musicians was spotted today enjoying a #2 Zingerman's Reuben (now with locally-sourced sauerkraut from The Brinery.)

Loudon Wainwright's performance tonight is at 8 p.m. at The Ark, 316 S. Main St., Ann Arbor. Tickets are $20.

For those who went to The Ark last night, did he remember the words to all of his songs? My spouse and I went to his concert last year, and he admittedly, forgot the lyrics to many of his own songs ... worst $$'s ever spent at The Ark.

For $20, I can buy a ticket to see Mr. Wainwright perform. Or...I could get the same sandwich and drink he ordered. Tough call.

Or you could eat a great sandwich at Afternoon Delight and still have 10+ bucks left.

What is that unexpected little plastic packet in the Reuben basket?! Some kind of mustard?

I just had my first Zingerman's sandwich last week (I only moved to the area recently). It was delicious. So sadly I won't be joining the club of people who like to take time out of their day to complain that Zingermans gets too much press.

Welcome to Ann Arbor, Alex. How did you know we had a club? Anyway, I'm confident you'll join us after a few years. We meet Thursday afternoons at Zingerman's roadhouse.

If they had a photo of him eating garbage food at mcdonalds, they probably would have run that instead. Fortunately he has taste, and unfortunately some people will complain about anything.

Yes, and I hear that he will order a Domino's pizza with improved cheese after the show, and try out one of Mark's new Carts tomorrow on his way out of town.
