We're ending our breakfast week videos the way many Ann Arborites end a late night out on the town, at the Fleetwood Diner with Hippie Hash.

Generations of Ann Arborites and University of Michigan students have ordered the grilled creation consisting of hash browns topped with a medley of vegetables and a generous frosting of feta cheese.

In this video Fleetwood Diner cook Kevin Phizacklea walks us through this original Ann Arbor recipe and even shares his secret to making great hash browns.

I love feta but it took me a while to get used to the hash mixed with it.

I was trying the hippie hash at my first visit to the Fleetwood this morning just as you were posting the article. It was very good. As opposed to chains that have hundreds of locations, I'm glad to have so many unique restaurants in the area.

So in the interest of a real survey, how about a now that I know what it is Never. Just offering options that appeal to the author is pretty limiting.

The Fleetwood is a great diner, and there are lots of fantastic reasons to eat there, but in my opion, the Hippie Hash ain't one of them. I finally tried the infamous hash a few months ago, and it was bland and soggy with grease. I'm not sure where the dish originated, but I think the Village Kitchen makes better Hippie Hash. Can't beat the Fleetwood for the vibe, though.

Fleetwood diner is a classic in Ann Arbor. Just don't use the bathroom. It's down in the basement and disgusting.

Last time I was in the Fleetwood, you could still make out the place where it said, "Fleetwood eggs are fried in butter." This was a long time ago, and "in butter" had already been removed. Somehow I doubt that real butter has returned to that flat top!

Fleetwood makes a mean gyro too. The gyro hippie hash is not bad either

I probably shouldn't admit this, but my late-night Fleetwood visits (albeit very infrequently) consist of fries...with cheese sauce covering them.

Totally putting myself out there on this one and sinning by saying how I think Abe's has better hippie hash.

I've been to the Lansing Fleetwood quite a few times and I gotta say — if it wasn't for the name I don't think I would even make the connection, but it's still good!

The first time I tried hippie hash was at the Fleetwood in Lansing on New Year's Day. Perfect way to start 2012.

Disappointed to learn that hippie has contains no actual hippies.
