This week's AnnArbor.com concert on the patio features Annie and Rod Capps.

AnnArbor.com's free, outdoor Summer Concert Series this week hosts Annie and Rod Capps.

The local acoustic-roots favorites will perform a lunchtime concert at noon this Friday, Aug. 12, on the patio at AnnArbor.com's community space, 301 E. Liberty St. (at Fifth Avenue).

Annie and Rod Capps are well-known names on the local roots-music scene, describing their sound as "a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove."

In addition to regular appearances together, Annie Capps is part of the local songwriting collective the Yellow Room Gang, and she also organizes the now-annual "My Folky Valentine" shows at The Ark.

The two recently released a new EP, "Take Me To the Fair." They released the acclaimed full-length album "My Blue Garden" in 2009.
