Radio links: National Public Radio stations in Michigan

By Edward Vielmetti

I was listening to NPR this morning, and suddenly the news came on about what was happening in Ohio. It took a moment to figure out that instead of having tuned in to WUOM 91.7 that I had picked up WGTE 91.3 instead. Who knew that things in Cleveland were so different from here? Fascinating.

Here's as an exhaustive a list as I could come up with of Michigan radio stations that carry programming from NPR, National Public Radio. Most of these have some kind of online signal, so that you can tune in from wherever you are. Many stations have at least some local news reporting that shows up as text rather than audio. In general, not every program that is broadcast over the air also shows up online. I'm pretty sure that I didn't miss any NPR stations, but I might have missed other public radio stations that don't carry NPR programming.

A good comprehensive list of radio stations for Michigan is maintained by OnTheAir.net.
