Former Michigan football player Mike Hart has no regrets over 'little brother' comment
Former Michigan running back Mike Hart tells Angelique Chengelis of the Detroit News that he has no regrets about the "little brother" comment that raised the ire of Michigan State a few years ago.
"I don't regret what I said," Hart said Sunday while attending the Champions for Children's Hearts golf fundraiser in Ann Arbor. "If I had a chance to say it again, would I say it? ... Yes, no question about it."
Here's the link to the complete story in the Detroit News.

Hart may not regret it but as a Wolverine fan I do. Disrespecting your opponent is what "other" teams do, not Michigan.

It's fun to come over here occasionally so that one can witness the sense of entitlement UM fans have about having a strong football program. It is Michigan's historical right to be better than MSU, I guess. The reason Hart should regret what he said is because most men regret when they state an outright lie. That's the only thing that bugged me about his comment. Go look back at the tapes and tell me where, with 7:40 to go and MSU up by ten, where the UM players were joking and laughing on the sidelines. Hart simply lied to bring attention to himself. And keep quoting the 29-67-5 record if that makes you feel good. It's not nearly as lopsided since MSU joined the Big Ten. But then, you probably cite all of the NCs that happened before WW II, too.

"Yelmonion:Hart has to stand by his comment. It's all he'll be remembered for. Although... he could be remembered for being on the last good UM football squad." I guess he won't be remembered for being Michigan's all-time leader rusher.. three time first-team big ten. I guess he won't be remembered for beating up his little bro 4 years in a row either. Same Old Sparty. 29-67-5 against big brother..

No, I didn't really like Hart saying the comment, but Henson was sure right - they (msu) would give it right back if they were winning (they were 3-11 against UM), and we've heard 14 years worth of insults in the last 2 years. I've always said my little brother beats me up a couple times every 14 years or so and thats okay, sure glad that stops this year - and it quiets down to sobbing in east lansing. Will be sorry to see the msu coach go in a couple years though - I actually thought he was an okay guy.

Hart has to stand by his comment. It's all he'll be remembered for. Although... he could be remembered for being on the last good UM football squad. All went down hill after RR took over. Tater... your comment about where MSU belongs. Don't understand that. Really don't. Why does MSU belong there? Because you can't deal with being beaten by MSU? If I felt my team was as good as you "believe" UM is... I would think you would want a strong MSU, to rub it in even more. But nope... with your non-stop vitriol towards MSU, it seems to be they have your attention. And I don't see UM winning anytime soon in either football or bball.

Lokal, Would you care to provide some factual basis for your claim that, "Michigan will be dead for a couple years"? I'll wait.

Michigan is going to be dead for a couple of years for sure, but why would Hart have regrets? He was beating MSU back then so say whatever you want!

I was a Vandy fan for a few years back in the 1980's when I lived in Nashville for awhile. Now I understand what Tennessee fans meant when they used to say that "winning at Tennessee is a habit, at Vandy it's an event!". So, now that I'm all in for Michigan, I can look Sparty in the eye and tell him to enjoy it while he can, because winning is a habit at UMich, but at MSU it's an event!
