Michigan women's baskeball team opens Big Ten play Thursday against Northwestern

All-Big Ten honorable mention players Veronica Hicks and Carmen Reynolds lead the Michigan women's basketball team against Northwestern in Big Ten Tournament play.

Hicks, a junior guard who averages 13.3 points a game, and Reynolds, a sophomore guard-forward averaging 12.6 a game, were named to the honorable mention team on Monday. Freshman Dayeesha Hollins (12.5 ppg) was named to the All-Freshman Big Ten team.

On Thursday, the Wolverines will face Northwestern, a team they lost to twice in the regular season.

Northwestern beat Michigan, 63-59 on Dec. 28 at Crisler Arena. The Wildcats followed that with a 64-60 victory against Michigan on Feb. 4.
