Don't forget lost income for hotels, meals, gas, and drinks that the thousands of fans that didn't travel to watch as many games or stay an extra night after a win. And how were the people who worked at these businesses affected? Secondhand tickets prices were also depressed, like their owners, lowering the intrinsic and hard dollar value season tickets holders place on their investment. So, even though RR has about 33% support from a poll, take a count of how many business owners and their employees are happy with the dollars moving through their doors on a football weekend. The majority, which for once I'm proud to belong to, see the problem on the field and want change. But as everybody should know by now, it's the "Big" money that makes the decisions. And, that's why things will change the first week of January. WOW! RichRod, the $20 million dollar non-michigan man.

3 and out, you are right on but forgot to add the cost of the embarassment from sanctions cry baby was responsible for. Add it all up and Martin looks like an idiot for the hire to any sane person. DB has no choice but to start anew. Cry baby is a failure.

Even after saving 1.5 million, we still have to pay RR 2.5 million just to walk away! 2.5 million to get rid of that BAD JOKE....and add that to 2 million in legal fees plus the 10 mil or so already paid to Rod in 3 years + the WVU buyout... that adds up to what...15 million for the Rich Rod error...(not counting lost Bowl Revenues, lost merchandising revenues etc)... so the total Tab for the Rich Rod Error, including lost revenues will be over $20 million dollars. Think about that: The Rich Rod Error will cost Michigan over $20 million dollars. Wow. That is well over $1 million per win... and over $3 million for each Big Ten Win. It is no wonder that Dave Brandon wants Rich Rod gone.

Rich Rodriguez: "I'd personally like to thank Dan, my good friend, for taking all the heat on speculation off of me, putting it squarely on his shoulders." Yup..... typical. Once again the King Narcissist puts the focus on himself and his own job security.

I believe the comments below from Fla AD sum up exactly the problem UM has on it's hands. The process for success was not followed by Bill Martin in the last HC search and as we now see, RR was/is not a fit. As both schools can attest, finding the right guy can be the difference between mediocrity and superiority. "I don't care if it's football, baseball, gymnastics, whatever have you, you've got to get in front of [coaching searches]," Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said. "You need to find out if they're a fit. Not just can they coach, but are they a fit for this institution, for this community, for this athletic program? Likewise, are we a fit for them? "Sometimes people think deals get cut in back rooms. It's got to happen face-to-face and I'm going to do that.... We are going to move as quickly as we can. Certainly recruiting is a factor here, but you're not going to go too fast. You've got to hire the right person."

i like a good joke and all, but it seems that joking about your job stability in public wouldn't endear one to the bossman. and speaking of good jokes, while theo212 posts usually annoy me, this one gave me a chuckle.

RR's future coaching destinations and fit: Miami = RR Comment: Near perfect fit. They really deserve each other. Florida > RR Comment: Coaching in the SEC is akin being scrutinized by the NY press and Florida will find someone else (Mullen). Colorado > RR Comment: Colorado wouldn't want to pay that much $$$ for RR unless RR's asking price comes down. Indiana > RR Comment: Hoosiers wouldn't want RR to further worsen their already worst defense. Theo212 < RR Comment: RR is already married...Sorry Theo212;)

Rude Jude: I agree. RR is history! Brandon is saving $1.5 million by waiting until after Jan 1 to announce, but potentially delayed some recruting commitments. Money wins. I do honestly believe RR is finished as head coach at MI. Maybe while he's in Florida, he can interview for the Miami job!

Yes RudeJude, In an article yesterday, Brandon said that UM has spent between $1.5-$2.0 million dollars in legal fees during the NCAA investigation which makes sense that Brandon is waiting til Jan 2011 to recoup the $$$. Brandon had sat in with the football coaches to watch films in the season including doing the Jerry Jones thing (roaming the sidelines) in 1st and 4th quarters of the UM games. In other words, Brandon has seen enough and do not want to pay RR that extra $1.5 million and you know UM has to be privately fuming over spending $$$ on legal fees while defending RR and Theo212 in the NCAA investigation. The Ghost also brought up a undebatable point yesterday about that. (Brandon plans to fire RR anyway). Nice poem Theo212. Posters, have a great wkd.

(From Michael Rosenberg's article "Michigan AD's silence bad sign for Rich Rod" in the Detroit Free Press that's not included in the links, go figure.) "Brandon is a smart man. And when a smart person does a seemingly stupid thing (delaying announcing his decision on Rodriguez), you have to look at it from every angle to see what you're missing. No matter how I look at this, only one thing makes sense: Brandon has decided to fire Rodriguez."

Somehow this Michael Rosenberg article titled "Michigan AD's Silence bad sign for Rich Rod" got left out of the bunch. Crazy! Here's the link: http://www.freep.com/article/20101210/COL22/12100354/1103/Michigan-ADs-silence-a-bad-sign-for-Rodriguez
