After a holiday hiatus, the AnnArbor.com Game of the Week will be returning with a bang.

Father Gabriel Richard’s boys basketball game against Pontiac Notre Dame Prep Tuesday won our first poll of 2013, garnering nearly half of the more than 800 votes cast.

That means we'll be at FGR Tuesday night with our blanket coverage, including multiple stories, photos and a live chat.

FGR this season is playing an exciting, run-and-gun style of basketball. At least one team has scored 80 or more points in every Gabriel Richard game this year. The Irish feature Washtenaw County’s top scorer, guard Jason Houle, who is averaging 24.5 points per game through six games.

The Irish enter the game looking to snap a four-game losing streak. After winning the first two games of the year, their record stands at 2-4. Their most recent loss came to Windsor Catholic Central, 84-57 on Dec. 27.

Tuesday’s game kicks off FGR’s Catholic League AA slate.

And look for our next poll, for games Jan. 15-18, opening later this afternoon.
