After winning its first match Tuesday against Chelsea, the Huron High School volleyball team also started strong against Dexter, playing to a 24-23 lead in the first set.

But Huron senior Rachel Miller came down wrong on a block attempt, injuring her ankle, and had to be helped off the court. Huron went on to win the first set, 26-24, but Miller missed the rest of the match. Without her, Huron struggled to fill in the gap, and Dexter won the next three sets and the match.

“She’s a server, she’s a captain, she’s one of our go-to hitters, and she’s also one of our best passers in the back row,” Huron coach Toney Cummer said. “After that happened, we had to put people in different spots where they weren’t comfortable.” (Story and Photo Gallery)
