University of Michigan police investigating indecent exposure in sauna at CCRB
A man who was sitting in the sauna at the University of Michigan Central Campus Recreation Building Thursday night told police another man sat down next to him, exposed himself and began masturbating.
And police say there are unconfirmed reports of similar incidents that have occurred recently.
The incident took place at about 10:55 p.m. in the CCRB at 401 Washtenaw Ave.
Campus police spokeswoman Diane Brown said the man left the sauna after the stranger began masturbating and then reported it to police. The two men were alone in the sauna at the time.
When officers arrived, the man who exposed himself was gone, Brown said.
Officers learned of potential other incidents in recent weeks involving a man with a similar description, although those weren't reported to police, Brown said.
Campus police issued a crime alert this evening, and Brown urged anyone who has information to come forward.
"Call police if you have any additional information that could help identify this person or a pattern," Brown said.
The man who exposed himself was described as Asian, in his 40s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, slender and had short dark hair.

I tout nudity in da sauna (pronounced "SOW-na") was pretty much da norm. Masturbating while in dere is definitely not a good idea, dough; you really don't want ta get your heart rate up in da sauna.

"...the CCRB should be doing a much better job of policing it's own facilities throughout the day." Having known someone who used to work there, it sounds like these problems are constant. I wonder how often stuff like this happens at private health clubs? Seems like you never hear about anything like that. A statement of policies and practices related to these incidents, from the CCRB management, might be in order here. Hopefully annarbor.com can interview whoever is in charge of the CCRB and tell us why this keeps happening there but not elsewhere.

That's why you do not use the sauna's at any of the U of M facilities especially during evening hours! Its really too bad that these guys cann't find somewhere else to work things out.

Honestly...they must keep records of all the cards they swipe as people enter the CCRB. I doubt there are more than three or four 40 year old Asian men that swiped into the CCRB at that time of the day.

Apparently the cops don't read craig's list. Such activities at CCRB have clogged up CL recently. I'm surprised an orgy hasn't been broken up there by this point.
