Nice photo shot! The storms came then went. They were not severe in the local area. We needed the rain.

watching the storm and wind come in over our thirsty wetland was beautiful...especially since there were no power outages ( which are always an issue in our oak woods.)

@ Bertha Venation: Yeah, if I ever start to lose my hearing, that's one pastime I'll quit. I don't have eyes in the top of my head!

I was out in the rain storm yesterday and got completely soaked! It felt great but didn't get the darn black flies off me. Why am I so tasty to them? I'm just so happy that we are getting this rain. I can literally see the grass getting greener by the minute.

I saw someone toss a cigarette butt out their car window onto a patch of dead dead dry grass. I was flabbergasted. I hate people doing that anyways, but hello! Fire hazard! Luckily nothing happened, but still. I stomped it.

Because you're such a sweetie! :) I'm glad for the grass also... can't believe all the dead patches.

Managed to get out into the woods for a dogwalk just before it hit! A little soggy now, but a good time was had by all. Absolutely no mosquitos in that wind! I love the way the trees toss around in the wind — a year-and-a-half ago, my son and I got to see an old, dead, red oak fall across the path in front of us. The trunk was over 2' in diameter, and fell in slow motion... until the crown hit the ground, and exploded into pieces. Way cool. Biggest tree I've ever seen fall. My son is now going to have a hard time topping that! It's been raining for a little over a half-hour now, and from the looks of the radar, we'll get another hours-worth of much-needed rain. Love it.

The crows called it, they were barking just before the sky darkened. I hope this rain keeps up for a while. We sure need the rain!
