Road construction causes lane closures on U.S. 23, M-14 in Ann Arbor area
Road construction will likely continue to cause periodic traffic headaches for Washtenaw County motorists traveling on U.S. 23 on the east side of Ann Arbor for several more days.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will continue single lane closures for concrete patching along northbound and southbound U.S. 23 between Washtenaw Avenue and M-14 through 6 a.m. Monday. The lane closures began Friday at 9 p.m.
MDOT plans the same lane closure schedule for next weekend as well.
MDOT also plans to implement the same lane closures overnight during the coming week. The lanes will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The overnight closures begin Monday and end Thursday morning.
MDOT also has nightly lane closures for resurfacing in effect along eastbound and westbound M-14 from U.S. 23 to the Wayne County line until the end of July. The overnight closures are from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
You can view an interactive map of the construction zones.

Lane closures will be in effect overnight and on weekends on U.S. 23 and M-14.

I saw the same thing motorcycleminer did: traffic was backed up along the entire stretch of M-14 north of the city, all the way to the M-14/Main Street interchange on the west side.

This is going to be a real mess on Monday when they also start repaving Territorial west of US-23. It will be a mess for people who work in Novi, etc. Not many detour choices left. Then there is the I-275 construction south of M-14 that has southbound traffic backing up north of M-24, Main St. Construction in Dexter, and the Chelsea construction near 94, etc., etc., etc.

Where exactly is U.S. 23 between Washtenaw and U.S. 23? Are they patching the ramps?
