Michigan State Police say accident and car fire slows traffic on M-14

The Michigan State Police have been dispatched to an accident on M-14 west of Ford Road in Salem Township where a car caught on fire and closed down the eastbound lanes.

Officials at the Michigan State Police Ypsilanti post said troopers were dispatched to the scene at about 5:45 p.m. Friday.

A Washtenaw County dispatcher said the eastbound lanes were closed and all traffic was passing on the shoulder.

There were no details immediately available on how the accident occurred.
