Michigan Islamic Academy Top Scholars

Michigan Islamic Academy will hold its 2012 graduation ceremonies Tuesday, June 19, 6:30 p.m. at Washtenaw Community College Morris Lawrence Building Towsley Auditorium. The class includes 11 graduates.

Sarah Raoof
Parents: Ameed and Samar Raoof
Activities and Awards: Sarah was the president of the Student Government Organization. She was also the Historian of the National Honor Society. Sarah participated in the Women in Science and Engineering RobotC workshop for two years, and attended the Michigan Youth Leadership Convention. She volunteered at the Ann Arbor District Library, along with FoodGatherers, the University of Michigan Hospital, the Humane Society of Huron Valley and a local dentist's office.
Plans After Graduation: Sarah will be attending the University of Michigan, School of Literature, Science and the Arts, majoring in biochemistry.




Abdullah Tout

Activities and Awards: Abdullah is a member of many extracurricular organizations, including the National Honor Society and the Student Government (both of which he has been secretary of for two years), and the Model United Nations. Abdullah has also worked for over 210 hours in the community, helping out at Sunrise Assisted Living Senior Home, the Salvation Army, and many school events including fundraisers and conferences. He has also attended the University of Michigan 2011 and the Michigan State 2012 Model U.N. Conferences. Abdullah is a member of the Michigan Islamic Academy’s early graduation program, and is graduating in his 11th grade year as a result, and heading off to the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
Plans After Graduation: Abdullah plans to study humanities at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, eventually becoming both an author and a high school teacher.
