Lincoln High School Top Scholars

Lincoln High School held its 2010 graduation ceremonies’ June 4 in the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center. The class had 286 graduates.

Allison Mary Chan

Parents’ name(s): Dorothy Mary Chan and Lester Mitchell Chan

Activities and awards: Allison has been a Key Club member for four years and has currently held the position of the K-Family Relations chair on the Michigan District Board of Key Club. She also has played soccer for four years and has been the captain of the soccer and tennis teams.

Plans after graduation: Allison plans to attend Michigan State University.

Geneva Mary Chunn

Parents’ name(s): Robert Chunn and Christina MacAllister

Activities and awards: Geneva was vice president of student council as well the student council representative in National Honor Society. She also played tennis for 4 years and ran cross-country three years.

Plans after graduation: Geneva plans to attend the University of Michigan to either double major in biology and chemistry or pre-med with a minor in psychology.

Sara Miranda Duda

Parents’ name(s): Ken and Carmen Duda

Activities and awards: Sara served three years as varsity cheer leading captain and was editor-in-chief of the yearbook for 2009-2010. She was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and a class officer for three years. Sara was also named a member for the SEC All Academic Team for 2010.

Plans after graduation: Sara will pursue a degree in pharmacology at the University of Toledo.

Darin Wayne Duperon

Parents’ name(s): Dennis Duperon and Sabrina Duperon

Activities and awards: Darin was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and a section leader in marching band. He has played saxophone for over seven years competing at the state solo and ensemble festival.

Plans after graduation: Darin will attend the University of Michigan to study medicine.

Amy Getz

Parents’ name(s): John and Monica Getz

Activities and awards: Amy was voted Most Valuable Swimmer for the 2009 Lincoln Girls Varsity swim season. She also received a one at the 2010 district solo and ensemble competition, and served as a trumpet section leader for Lincoln High School’s marching band. Amy also served as captain of the swim team.

Plans after graduation: Amy plans to attend Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania and eventually graduate school possibly entering into a Physician Assistant program.

Erin Dianne Goupill

Parents’ name(s): Laura Sonntag and Daniel Goupill

Activities and awards: Erin’s varsity golf credits include 2nd place in white division 2008 season, 3rd in SEC white division 2009 as well as all district 2009. She was also the Academic Games coach with the program winning the E3 award. Erin has been the class treasurer for three years and a section leader in the marching and symphonic bands.

Plans after graduation: Erin will attend the University of Richmond to study business or medicine.

Amanda Jean Haddell

Parents’ name(s): Robert and Trudi Haddell

Activities and awards: Amanda has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. She has participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washtenaw County the last three years. Amanda has also maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout all four years of high school and is graduating in the top ten of her class.

Plans after graduation: Amanda plans to attend Eastern Michigan University to pursue a degree in business management.

Jacob Christopher Hammond

Parents’ name(s): Chris and Mique Hammond

Activities and awards: Jacob received the Academic Excellence Certificate all four years in high school. He also participated in the University of Michigan branch of Young Peoples Project (YPP) and played on the varsity football team during his Jr. Year.

Plans after graduation: Jacob plans to attend the University of Michigan to study medicine or psychology.

Nolan Holmes

Parents’ name(s): Barb Pothast and Bill Holmes

Activities and awards: Nolan was an active member of the National Honor Society. He was selected SEC All Conference goalkeeper for 2008. He was also chosen JV and Varsity soccer captain. Nolan was a four-year starter on the Canton Celtic Soccer Club team in the Midwest Regional League.

Plans after graduation: Nolan plans to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in computer engineering and computer science. He also hopes to play soccer for MSU.

Trebecca Raquel McDonald

Parents’ name(s): William Keith and Brenda McDonald

Activities and awards: Trebecca has been the Editor-in-chief of the high school literary magazine Almost Famous during her junior and senior years. She was a freshman mentor and played in the jazz band during her freshman and sophomore years. Trebecca received the National Achievement Scholarship Award for PSAT/SAT scores and academics) She is also the recipient of the U of M Engineering Scholarship of Honor.

Plans after graduation: Trebecca will attend the University of Michigan, College of Engineering where she will study civil engineering and architecture.

Ava Myles

Parents’ name(s): Michael and Patricia Myles

Activities and awards: Ava was a member of the National Honor Society, the section leader of the clarinet section in the high school band and 1st chair clarinet in symphonic band.

Plans after graduation: Ava plans to attend the University of Chicago in the fall.

Samantha Pace

Parents’ name(s): Peggy and Harold Pace

Activities and awards: Samantha played soccer all four years in high school and was captain during her junior year. She has been on the varsity cross-country team for three years receiving the coach’s award twice and named all-academic SEC. Samantha was a member of the National Honor Society for two years and was a junior leader at Open Arms Youth Group.

Plans after graduation: Samantha plans to go to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to study chemical engineering.

Danielle Marie Parsons

Parents’ name(s): Alicia Holtz and Gerald Parsons

Activities and awards: Danielle was a member of the High School marching band and symphonic band for four years. She also has performed over 190 hours of community service through Key Club and National Honor Society.

Plans after graduation: Danielle plans to attend the University of Michigan this fall.

Rachel Lauren Serafinski

Parents’ name(s): Catherine and Art Serafinski

Activities and awards: Rachel plays first doubles on the varsity tennis team and won first place in the Dexter invitational in the 2009 season. She is a member of the National Honor Society. Student Council and Key Club International. Rachel is also a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters and visits her little sister weekly.

Plans after graduation: Rachel will attend Michigan State University in the fall to study medicine.

Carly Marie Temple

Parents’ name(s): Lisa Temple

Activities and awards: Carly was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and a big sister for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was co-president of the Gay-Straight Alliance at Lincoln High School and one of the directors for Youth Actors of Ypsilanti (YAY), a teen run theatre group for elementary and middle school students. Carly was also a four-year member of the Teen Advisory Group at the Ypsilanti District Library.

Plans after graduation: Carly plans to attend the Ohio State University to study psychology and journalism.
