An employee from the WSG Gallery on Main Street in Ann Arbor reported a picture missing from the shop Wednesday afternoon, and police are investigating the incident as a possible theft.

Ann Arbor police Lt. Renee Bush said the employee noticed the missing picture about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. There was one customer inside the gallery, 306 S. Main St., prior to the employee noticing the picture was missing.

Police were notified of the incident at 2:41 p.m. and an officer was sent to the gallery to take the report at 2:52 p.m., Bush said.

However, the employee told police he did not see the customer take the picture, and there is no evidence available to show the picture was stolen.

There is no surveillance camera footage of the picture being taken and police are still working to develop a suspect in the case.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call the Ann Arbor police anonymous tip line at 734-794-6939 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP (773-2587).

It would be helpful to know what the picture was, so if you saw it in someone's home it could be reported.

I think I left a $20 bill somewhere the other day, so if you find it please turn it in.

They don't know for sure if it was stolen ? Kinda sounds like they may have bad inventory control

I agree...dime will get ya a dollar that possibly a different staff member has moved or set aside a piece...but with a decent inventory program thru a POS it would be easy to determine the picture as stolen or more likely misplaced...and the Theft alert we got was a waste of time.

Did the Stadium Bridges purloin some art to cover their nakedness?
