Wild Light brings bright sounds to Blind Pig on Thursday

If you like sunny-sounding indie rock with a bittersweet bend — think Death Cab For Cutie — check out Wild Light, who open for Bell XI at the Blind Pig on Thursday.

The quartet, consisting mainly of childhood friends who've casually made music together since grade school, formed in New Hampshire in 2005. By 2007, they landed opening gigs for the Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem and released a self-titled EP.

Their full-length debut came this spring with "Adult Nights," a collection of infectious yet contemplative guitar-oriented pop as reminiscent of the Beach Boys as it is Phantom Planet. "One thought-provoking knockout anthem after another marks the uplifting debut by this New Hampshire quartet," said Billboard.

I would go to the Pig if it was non-smoking...when will this place and other bars in A2 get real and ban smoking?? There are more non-smokers than smokers and we have more money...we don't buy ciggies!
