A month after its initial, limited release, the prison drama "Stone" opens in one local theater on Friday. Set in the Detroit area, “Stone” did some shooting last year in downtown Ypsilanti and at Ypsilanti’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church, as well as in Dexter and at the Southern Michigan Correctional Facility near Jackson. Other shooting was done in and around Detroit and Philadelphia.
