Yesterday's news of the death of Rue McClanahan, who played Blanche on "The Golden Girls," has brought out a lot of reaction.
The New York Times has its usual extensive obituary. EW.com collects a variety of public statements paying tribute to McClanahan, including one from "Golden Girls" costar Betty White. And in a short appreciation, EW.com asks readers for their favorite Blanche quips, and they've had a ton of responses.
Meanwhile, USAToday's "Pop Candy" blog has a pretty thoughtful roundup, with lots of video clips, of some favorite pre-"Golden Girls" appearances by McClanahan.
