This weekend, Huron High School's theater troupe, the Huron Players, will present Tim Rice and Elton John's musical "Aida."

The show tells the story of forbidden love between Aida, an enslaved Nubian princess, and Radames, the Egyptian captain who captured her. Radames, already betrothed to Amneris, princess of Egypt, leads the Egyptian army to invade Nubia. The Nubian slaves in Egypt need a leader, and Aida finds herself torn. What should she choose — her duty to her country or the love of her life?

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, February 11-13, and Sunday, February 14 at 3 p.m., at Huron High School’s Paul K. Meyers Auditorium, at 2727 Fuller Road. Tickets go on sale 45 minutes prior to each performance, and advance reservations can be made by calling 734-994-2096. Tickets cost $12 ($10 students/seniors/staff), or $40 for a family of four pack of tickets.
