Tokyo Sexwhale Rackham Stage, 5 p.m.
Tokyo Sexwhale was born a child of nostalgia, but quickly outgrew its diapers to don the jumpsuit of a true rock band. Rooted in original surf, and creating authentic originals, Tokyo Sexwhale looks to energize and creatively open Michigan's eyes to the musical splendors of a truly tumultuous torrent of tonal tweakings and tyraids.Listen to Tokyo Sexwhale "A Shot in the Dark" (MP3).Performing since: Winter 2007 Home base: Ann Arbor, Thew's Overboard Lounge Style of music: Psychedelic '60s surf rock Members: Thew Wilkin, Tyler Carr, Stefan Krstovic, Nick Mirsky Pre-show ritual: Hurriedly writing last minute set lists Favorite road food: Confectionery in the shape of other foods (ie marshmallow hamburgers, gummi pizzas) Desert island disc: Madonna "The Immaculate Collection" Best thing about Ann Arbor: The Ann Arbor Summer Festival?

Mucca Pazza Rackham Stage, 7 p.m.
Mucca Pazza is the marching band that thinks it’s a rock ‘n roll band. The group is a collection of shameless band nerds wielding instruments of incongruous traditions, sometimes in competition, often in cooperation. With speakers strapped firmly to heads, their rambunctious live show has brought them to such acclaimed venues as the Late Show with Conan O’Brien, Lollapalooza, and a fleet of canoes floating down the Chicago River.Listen to a live clip of Mucca Pazza "Alarm" (MP3).Their music skips from genre to unnameable genre, never settling in one place for long, but held together by the band’s unmistakable sound and irresistible energy. Their repertoire includes zombie-mambo, snake-charmer-metal, gypsy-reggaeton, punk-classical, and some demented arrangements of Dmitri Shostakovich, Béla Bartok, and famed Egyptian composer Kemal El Tawil. Some have called them “circus punk,” some say they’re “geek love,” but no one calls them dull. Come welcome them to Ann Arbor!

My Dear Disco Rackham Stage, 8:45 p.m.
In the midst of a new national touring schedule that includes numerous profile festivals, Ann Arbor’s own My Dear Disco is back at Top of the Park for an energy-filled set that will have the crowd moving. The band continues to inspire listeners with flourishing grooves, a cornucopia of influences, and musical brilliance all intended to entice you onto the dance floor.Listen to My Dear Disco "Amsterdam" (MP3).Performing since: 2006 Home base: Ann Arbor! Style of music: We call it Dancethink music. Another way to describe it would be high-brow guilty-pleasure dance music. We love Daft Punk, Michael Jackson, and Ravel — after that, anything goes! Members: Michelle Chamuel, Tyler Duncan, Robert Lester, Mike Shea, Christian Carpenter Pre-show ritual: Duck hunt. If there isn't a Nintendo present, we have guided meditation take us through the first five levels of Mario 3. DJ Body Rock Grove Stage, 10:30 p.m.
Body Rock brings the heat to the dance floor. Pulling together dance music styles both accessible and experimental, Body Rock sets are always funky and fresh, thought-provoking and progressive, they are positively uplifting. Drawing from his experiences as a performer, songwriter, and producer in electro-pop band My Dear Disco as well as a solo producer of electronica and techno, Body Rock sets create an ecstasy of movement in which tension and release ebb and flow, building up to drive dancers to a frenzy before placing them gently back into solid groove.Listen to DJ Body Rock "Playin Kinda Ruff (Body Rocked)" (MP3).Home base: Ann Arbor Style of music: Indie House and Electronica Members: Robert Lester is Body Rock Pre-show ritual: Stretching Favorite road food: Road food is typically pretty bleak. In general I welcome the sight of a food co-op or something like a Panera. I also love running into dingy, local Mexican places. Desert island disc: Miles Davis "In a Silent Way" Best thing about Ann Arbor: The sense of community! Genre: DJ Mix, Electro-House, Festival Debut
