'Bachelor' star Ben Flajnik appearing in Ann Arbor Thursday to promote wines
Flajnik and Mike Benziger, of the Benziger wine family, are friends from childhood and have partnered on a line of wines called Envolve. At the local appearances, the two will sign Envolve bottles. The first event will include a wine tasting to help introduce a new Envolve wine, Sonoma Mountain Rose.
One appearance is set for the Ann Arbor Kroger store, 400 South Maple Road, from 1-3 p.m. Thursday. Another appearance is set for the Scio Township Meijer store, 5645 Jackson Road, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
They are in Grand Rapids today, and will also appear at a Kroger in Troy on Friday.
Flajnik was the star of the most recent season of "The Bachelor," the ABC TV show that aims to find a match for an eligible single man. Envolve Winery was founded in 2008 emphasizes sustainable, organic and biodynamic practices. “Kroger is pleased to host Flajnik and Benziger at our Ann Arbor and Troy stores as they introduce their fine wines,” said Rick Going, president of The Kroger Co. of Michigan, in a prepared statement. “Envolve wines are proving popular in our Kroger wine sections. We anticipate these events will give guests the opportunity to personally meet the winemakers and help boost customer demand.”

Isn't the Bachelor about 0-for-20 in producing a marriage with the final choice? I'd recommend the following slogan... Envolve: it won't lead you to the altar, but you'll enjoy putting a cork in it.

As a former member of the Benziger wine club, I can tell you that the family makes some wonderful wine and also gives a great vineyard and winery tour. Cant' wait to try this. Gonna reserve judgment on the tie in with The Bachelor though.
