Ypsilanti-based Stadium Trophy celebrates student athletes, awards funds for high school sports programs
StadiumAthlete.com awarded its first grand-prize winning school — Whitmore Lake High — with a total of $1,250 in prizes to be applied to their 2012-2013 athletic season. The school was chosen through Stadium Trophy Inc.'s Michigan Student Athlete of the Week program.

The program offers an opportunity to recognize high school scholar athletes and give school sports programs a chance to win a year-end equipment donation. Whitmore Lake qualified to be part of a drawing for the prize when its student athlete — Ronnie Milbocker — won the Michigan High School Athlete of the Week Award through StadiumAthlete.com.
From Stadium Trophy, Whitmore Lake High School won a $500 gift certificate to Wolverine Sports to purchase athletic equipment, a $500 account with Stadium Trophy for the 2012-2013 school year to be used for trophies and awards for its athletic teams and a $250 gift certificate to JJ Jinkleheimer and Co. to be used toward team apparel.
As the program rolls out its second year, the 2013-14 school year has reached $4,500 in equipment and prizes.
Throughout the school year, coaches, parents, friends and fans may nominate student athletes. Weekly winners are determined by the number of votes they receive via Facebook and on the website staduiumathlete.com. Schools, for each of their winning student athletes, earn one entry in the year-end drawing.
