Two new Ann Arbor nail salons savor steady business since opening
Ann Arbor weather may not be screaming spring, but plenty of freshly painted toenails in the area are doing just that. Luv Nail Salon, located at 3365 Washtenaw Ave., has been very busy perking up winter-tired fingers and toes since its grand opening on March 21, according to co-manager Dierdre Lisk.

“This is the first corporate run location, and it’s been very successful so far, “said Clason. Luv is hopeful to open more locations at a rate of 4 per year.
Luv specializes in manicures, pedicures and facials. The lime green and stone gray color scheme gives the salon a modern yet soothing feel. The spa has 16 spa chairs, and six manicure stations. The Ann Arbor location has 25 employees, and is looking to hire up to 15 more nail technicians.
Clason says the location, on the north side of Washtenaw in the plaza that also houses Lady Jane Hair Salon and Jimmy John’s Subs, could not be better.
Luv’s most popular service is their Classic Mani Pedi that offers an hour of hand and foot pampering for the special rate of $30.
Diva Nails, at 3601 Washtenaw, is less than one mile down the road in the front section of Arborland near Starbucks Coffee.

After a delay in opening due to construction, Diva Nail’s has also enjoyed a steady stream of clients, its owners said. Diva Nails is a family owned and operated salon that offers a wide range of manicure, pedicure, and waxing services.
Kim Bo, who works alongside her husband, her sister, and her brother-in-law, said she tries to get to know each customer by name.
Clients are greeted, offered a complimentary drink, and led back to one of more than a dozen massage chairs for their pedicure. The ambiance at Diva Nails is just as sophisticated as that at Luv. Clients relax to the sound of three trickling wall waterfalls with chromatherapy lighting.
Diva Nail Salon, which opened in February, charges $37 to non-students for their basic hand and foot package. Manicures and pedicures are often considered “extras” that are quickly given up when people are living on a tight budget. Clason is hopeful that the high demand for nail services is a sign of positive economic change in our area.
“It’s good news to all of us.”

I've been going to Diva Nails since they opened, and I highly recommend it! Kim and the rest of the crew are so friendly and pleasant, and I've been pleased with my manicures. So great to see a high-quality, moderately-priced salon move into the area.
