Tecumseh Products picks chief financial officer as CEO
Pittsfield Township-based Tecumseh Products, a maker of refrigeration and air conditioning products with some 7,300 employees, has a new CEO.

He succeeds Jim Wainwright, who left in March after the company revealed a 2010 loss of $56.8 million.
The company hired consultancy Heidrick and Struggles to conduct a national search, saying in a statement that it ultimately selected Connor for his "deep operational, financial and leadership skills."
The announcement comes less than a year after Tecumseh announced plans to develop a technology center in a 50,000-square-foot building it purchased near South State and Textile roads.

Any company that is run by a bean counter will have problems. CEOs should be either market driven, (sales) or operations, (engineering or manufacturing), not accounting driven.
