Founder’s Day was initiated in 1939 to encourage Brickman branches to take time to thank and give back to the communities in which they live and work.

On Sept. 14, Brickman teamed with Habitat for Humanity and Toyota to remodel and update the landscaping at 6118 S. Miami St. in Ypsilanti, with remodeling sponsored by Toyota and landscape provided by The Brickman Group. In recent years, nonprofit Habitat for Humanity has shifted its focus from building new houses for low-income families to rehabilitating existing homes.

Staff were on site from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and, at the end, Brickman staff presented a new lawnmower to the homeowners to help them maintain the new landscaping.
