University of Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez isn't concerned about transfers

By Michael Rothstein

With three Class of 2008 recruits leaving Michigan football in the past few months, it'd be understandable if Wolverines' football coach Rich Rodriguez was a tad concerned.

Except he's not. Not one bit. Not at all.

Actually, he went so far as to admit his staff made some mistakes in his first recruiting cycle.

"You wish everybody was doing all the right things and moving forward but sometimes not everybody fits," Rodriguez said. "Whether it's the university profile or what you want to do."

Justin Feagin, Kurt Wermers and Dan O'Neill all left or were removed from the program recently.

In Feagin's case, Rodriguez said Tuesday it was a violation of team rules.

Those who have stayed, though, Rodriguez at least said he's happy with.

"Our players have come closer together in the last five or six months than I can even have hoped for," Rodriguez said. "And I'm pretty excited to work with them."

The motto isn't "those who stay will be champions" this time, but it still holds true for most of them. I like "Show No Mercy" and All In for Michigan," though.
