Tate Forcier's newest CFL competitor in Hamilton? That'd be ex-CMU QB Dan LeFevour
Tate Forcier's attempt at furthering his football career just got a bit more interesting.
The former Michigan football quarterback will now have to fight for a professional roster spot with a somewhat familiar face: Former Central Michigan signal caller Dan LeFevour.
Forcier ended his collegiate career last month by opting to sign with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, a team that already had two established quarterback in starter Henry Burris and backup Quinton Porter.
Tate Forcier will now compete with ex-CMU quarterback Dan LeFevour for a CFL third-string job.
After eligibility issues cost him a chance to play in the Gator Bowl at the end of the 2010 campaign, Michigan announced in January of 2011 that Forcier was no longer a member of the program.
From there, he went through failed transfer attempts at Miami and San Jose State before eventually opting on a shot at professional football north of the border.
Forcier, who ironically wears the same No. 16 as current Michigan starter Denard Robinson, and the Tiger-Cats will have their CFL preseason opener against Toronto on June 13.
