Former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard will both take part in speaking and autograph sessions near Michigan Stadium on Saturday.

Both are participating in the Sports Illustrated Heisman Tour presented by Nissan. The event, part of a 10-city tour, will be set up across from Michigan Stadium at the intersection of E. Stadium Blvd. and S. Main Street.

Howard, who will be honored for his 2010 induction into the College Football Hall of Fame during the Michigan-Notre Dame game on Saturday night (8 p.m., ESPN), will participate in an "SI Chalk Talk" session from 2 to 2:30 p.m. and sign autographs from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Carr, a 2011 College Football Hall of Fame inductee, will talk from 4:30 to 5 p.m. and sign autographs from 5 to 6 p.m.

It's part of a full weekend for Howard, who is part of the ESPN College GameDay crew that will broadcast live from Ingalls Mall from 9 a.m. to noon.

From 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Howard will be at the M Den at 303 South State Street signing autographed copies of the new book "I Wore 21: The Legend of Desmond Howard."

Along with being honored during the game, the Michigan athletic department's game day publication will include a special Howard audio chip.
