We stopped at a rest stop right outside New Orleans - a car from Virginia Tech was parked - couldn't resist snapping a picture with my mom in her GO BLUE shirt - the owners came out and have us a big hug! Carol Wallace is in the picture - she has been going to the games for 30 years - retired from U of M. Thousands of University of Michigan fans traveled to New Orleans for Tuesday's Sugar Bowl vs. Virginia Tech, and we asked them to show us their photos of fans around the city.
Photos show U-M flags on Bourbon Street and some good-natured rivalry on the road to the Sugar Bowl.
If you have photos from New Orleans you want included in this gallery, email them to juliebaker@annarbor.com, and we'll add them.

A friend told me that on her flight into New Orleans yesterday, there were so many Michigan fans on the plane that they all got together and sang Hail to the Victors.
