Minnesota quarterback MarQueis Gray questionable for game against Michigan due to toe injury
Minnesota quarterback MarQueis Gray reportedly is questionable for the Gophers' game this week against Michigan.
The Pioneer Press (Minn.) is reporting Gray, a mobile quarterback who is Minnesota's best offensive player, did not practice Wednesday due to a toe injury.

No. 19 Michigan (4-0) plays Minnesota (1-3) in its Big Ten opener on Saturday (Noon, BTN).
Gray is one of the Big Ten's best running quarterbacks. He is sixth in the league in rushing (87.8 yards per game) and seventh in total offense (218.0 YPG), but just 39-of-77 passing (50.6 percent) for 521 yards. He has three touchdowns and three interceptions.
If the junior can't play, Minnesota likely will start true freshman Max Shortell at quarterback against the Wolverines. Shortell has played in three of the Gophers' four games, completing 13-of-28 passes for 196 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

This could be true but they are exagerating the toe injury, the running QB will play in AA.

I don't want to be too cynical but I see the logic: the team which is running near the bottom of the Big 10 has a "hot" QB who is somewhere around 6th or 7th in the league. That team will face a revived and revved Michigan Defense whose mission is: Get the Quarterback. So... that "hot" QB suddenly is removed from the picture 3 days before they come to the Big House to face the FIRST rated QB and one of the better defenses they'll see all season. Minnesota will get their payout and will leave - while the Brown Jug stays in Schembechler Hall. Go Blue!
