All week leading into the AFC Championship game, the Indianapolis Colts heard a lot about how their league-worst rushing attack would be no match for the New York Jets' top-ranked defense.

Michigan alum Mike Hart noticed.

The second-year running back played a role, albeit a small one, in helping the Colts out-rush the Jets on Sunday and pushing his team into the Super Bowl. He had one carry for three yards.

Hart is one of six former people with U-M ties headed to Miami.

Cornerback Marlin Jackson is the other Colt. Receiver Adrian Arrington, center Jonathan Goodwin and assistant coaches Terry Malone and Mike Mallory will represent the Saints.

Tater, sparty has one player. Baldwin a DT. UM and OSU lead with 4 players each (though the 2 osu players on Indy are both on IR). But look at the big name players in this game and where they are from. Brees(purdue), Pierre Thomas (Illini), Dallas Clark (iowa), Will Smith (osu), new orleans kr Roby (indiana), Tracy Porter (indiana). The big ten is well represented. Heck both of peyton's backups are big ten alums.

of those 6 only one plays. Jackson is on IR, arrington was just activated to squad 2 weeks ago. Hart became active roster towards end of season when they were starting to rest Addai. Thank God for Goodwin.

i'm not sure, tater. you're better equipped to answer that question, considering your obsession with michigan state. i guess i'm too busy paying attention to how my alma mater is doing currently more so than how former players are doing. then again, when that's all you have to look forward to...
