Michigan's Troy Woolfolk says quarterback Tate Forcier 'not as consistent' at workouts as Denard Robinson

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Senior cornerback Troy Woolfolk says sophomore quarterback Tate Forcier wasn't a regular participant at voluntary, off-season workouts and that may hurt him in his competition to retain the starting role with the Michigan football team, The Michigan Daily reports.

From The Daily:

"Denard has been out there through the thick and thin and been out there all the time regardless if he's hurting," Woolfolk said. "And Tate, he tries to come out, but he's not as consistent as Denard is. And that's allowed Denard to jump a little bit ahead of Tate and I think that Tate's going to have to do a lot of work to catch back up to Denard in camp this year."

If Tate's smart, he won't listen to any of these comments. He'll do well to ignore it, dig in, and concentrate on playing as well as he can. And, let the chips fall where they may.

Bowlforblue... How can this be heresay... in the other instance, it was third a party said so and so said this. It was more of... my agent heard another agent say RR said this to the GMs. Never a direct... I was told this personally by RR. This kid's statement is in quotes... attributed to him... by a specific reporter. The kid even said he phrased it wrong on his twitter page.

The positive I can get out of this is Wolfolk is taking a leadership role and challenging other players to step up. This team has not had many seniors each of the last two years and any leadership came from underclassmen. Because of last years struggle, you would think EVERY member of this team would be challenging themselves every day. I just hope that Tate dosen't get the transfer bug like both of his brothers did. Part of a true competetitor is sticking it out, good or bad, thick or thin.

Woolfolk(Twitter) "A story was written about me putting Tate in a negative aspect," Woolfolk wrote. "This was phrased wrongly & is not the truth. I think Tate is a great player."

I find this statement from Troy really hard to believe....just like Carr saying Trent was hurt in the draft by Rodrigeuz... I blame heresay, and Media coverage. Michigan wins 10 games and garnishes a BCS Bowl......enough said.

This is a full quote from Woolfolk: "The only reason (Forcier is) not really labeled as diseased is because of the way he was able to carry the team last year before we started losing. People still trust him a little bit, but he's starting to lose that trust." Talk about throwing Forcier under the bus! This cannot be good for team chemistry.

This player should have shut his mouth. That's a in house thing that should not be reprted! If Denard starts Tate will transfer before the season is up like Sam McGuffie did.

Terry? Can you share some of whatever it is you are taking? Gracious human being? Go to his website.... no graciousness to him.

Be careful Troy...or your comments will end up on old Tate's "wall of shame" on his self promoting website, right next to the positive articles about Denard and Devin.

If this is true it is just a shame. I heard a similar story on campus that Tate, might be seeing the handwriting on the wall, and it had affected his whole attitude (which also not sure of truth). Tate came in January of 2009, and everybody and the kitchen sink knew he was going to be the starter. Yes, Denard has improved his skills to Heisman worthy, and now Tate has a legitimate challenge or scare. No matter what the truth, can't help but feel for Tate, if he is indeed struggling - what a gracious human being.

With the full article, he references players that don't show up regularly as a "disease"... and states that players still have some confidence in Tate but it is diminishing. Not a good statement.

Are you kidding me? If Troy really said this (doubtful) he needs to shut up.
