Michigan football linebacker Antonio Poole will likely miss beginning of camp with undisclosed injury

By Nick Baumgardner

CHICAGO -- Brady Hoke is never open about injuries, but Friday during the Big Ten's media days, he did open up about one.

The Michigan football coach said that redshirt freshman linebacker Antonio Poole will likely miss the beginning of camp with an injury.

Hoke would not disclose the nature of Poole's injury.

"He'll probably be the only one who's really going to be not in camp as a participant," Hoke said. "I'm not sure (when he'll be healthy).

"Everybody heals a little differently."

Hoke said he'd find out more about the team's overall health Monday, but he believes the overall roster is "OK" injury-wise.

One dinged up player Hoke does expect to be ready for the start of camp is defensive lineman Nathan Brink, who had been saddled with a leg injury.

The 6-foot-2, 212-pound Poole redshirted last season after signing with Michigan out of Cincinnati's Winton Woods High School.

This player is a bit of a mystery to me. What kind of injury could he be suffering? You would think the media would have all the information regarding his ailment. Is Antonio even on campus yet? What a tough break not to be ready when the big time college football chance of a lifetime is finally standing right in front of him. This story is so sad!

Cut him. He was only a 3 star. Make room for another scholarship for 2013 .

He was ranked a four star by some. Ranked as high as the 11th best lb recruit in the nation on one board. Very talented kid. This puts ringer as his backup. a true freshman. Hope he comes back soon.
