Michigan football commit Logan Tuley-Tillman burns recruiting mail from Ohio State
On Friday, Ohio State began targeting a Michigan football commit by formally offering 2013 four-star linebacker Mike McCray.
A day later, the Michigan-Ohio State recruiting battle made waves again.
Or, more specifically, fire.
Michigan offensive line commit Logan Tuley-Tillman, a member of the 2013 class, tweeted a photo Saturday of himself burning a piece of recruiting mail from the Ohio State football office.
from Twitter
Tuley-Tillman, a 6-foot-7, 321-pound tackle from Peoria, Ill., is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and Scout.com. He committed to Michigan in February.
He's the 13th-best offensive tackle prospect in the 2013 class, per Rivals, and rated as the 109th-best player in the class.
According to both Rivals and Scout, Tuley-Tillman does have an offer from Ohio State.
As for McCray, shortly after news got out of his Ohio State offer on Friday, the Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) prospect cleared up any confusion via his Twitter account.
"I'm not going anywhere," he wrote.

Funny. Michigan doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning on October 20th. What will the excuses be for the next 365 days? I like Mike Hart. He was an outstanding representative of the University. So what if he "punked" the Spartans? He backed it up. Nobody on your not so good team has done so since! And that is MOST CERTAINLY not going to change this year! Was it the 173 yards of total offense against mediocre VaTech that got the fans so excited? From my point of view that was one of the most pathetic bowl games EVER! Where's the threat?

Some people read way too far into this kind of stuff. It's a kid having fun. No need to get all worked up. I think it's kind of funny. What is actually more funny, yet sad, is that this actually bothers people. I swear our society is becoming softer each day.

Terrystar21 I understand what you are saying Terry. This just extends the Mike Hart curse. Michigan has all these recruits, Kalis, Pipkin, Magnus, Tillman, Shane making boastful statements and they haven't even played a down for Michigan. Yes, its very immature and I understand these are kids/ Kids do immature things. But, you are wrong if you think Hoke is celebrating this type of behavior. The rival with OSU is fantastic, but Mike Hart was 0-4 against OSU and MSU is on its way to 5-0. You tell me the benefit.

rightmind.....Mike Hart never said anything about ohio, he did though about msu and finished 4-0 against his little brother. Watch for him on the sideline this year, making Paul Bunyan smile and bringing him back from the gang of thugs - home where he belongs. That's the 'benefit', that's the 'threat'. End of story.

Terry, I see your point. I think your correct. I was happy to see this young man's commitment to his team. This is being viewed by some as an insult to another institution or even an act to put focus on himself. Young men need to be mindful of this. I do not think this was anything more than a demonstration of complete commitment. He needs to know we are committed to him as fans as well. As he grows, he will learn that a Michigan Man's word is more than enough.

Terry, I understand and respect where you're coming from. However, I feel like this young man made this public for a few reasons. First, he wanted to emphatically let Wolverine nation know where he stands. Secondly, he may have wanted to burn all bridges with Meyer and put an end to his recruitment and/or hounding of him. Finally, he may have wanted to send a message to his (hopefully) future teammate McCray that he wasn't budging from his commitment and wanted him to remain similarly firm. Either way, I understand and fully respect your point, but for my money I like him drawing a line in the sand with Meyer and the Bucks. It's not something I'd like to see every time from every recruit, but in this case I thought it was pretty cool.

Let me explain. Recruits often de-commit. Even I as a Michigan Man, I must admit that Urban Meyer is a great recruiter from a great university. The chances are strong that he just may find himself wearing scarlet and grey in a year or two. So it is Michigan who I suspect may have encouraged him to do this in an attempt to keep Ohio St away from showing what is one of the best places to play and attend school at in the country.

Terry...Maybe the quesion is this: at what point does a high school kid become a Michigan Man? If this kind of high schoolish behavior is not the way a Michigan Man behaves, isn't that why the coaches and others are there, to share the traditions and expectations with these young men (and women) in regard to the U of M? What might be okay behavior in a young man who has yet to enter the University may not be okay in a Michigan student. So I think it's a good idea to enjoy the humor of the situation, and wait for the coaches and students to teach the proper way of acting once you are a Michigan student. Or should high school recruits call the coach whenever they get the urge to do something and clear it in advance? Of course not.
