Lloyd Carr to receive Hall of Fame plaque at Nebraska-Michigan football game
File photo
Carr, who coached for 13 seasons from 1995-2007 and compiled a 122-40 record, a national title and five Big Ten titles, was named to the 2011 Hall of Fame class in May. The formal induction of 16 players and coaches will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 6 in New York.
Carr will be presented with a plaque that will be displayed at Michigan. He is the sixth Michigan coach in the Hall of Fame, joining Fielding Yost, Fritz Crisler, George Little, Tad Wieman and Bo Schembechler.

I believe the John U Bacon book to be true and there is a stain on Lloyd Carr's reputation. One mistake Lloyd Carr is making, even now, is not really presenting his own story. I will cheer for Lloyd Carr, because he still has more positives than negatives IMHO. Everybody else is entitled to their opinion.

Carr's coaching record is worthy of induction to the College Football Hall of Fame, however since his retirement from coaching LC has been a major disappointment with regards to his undermining of Michigan Football until he got the Athletic Director and Football Coach he wanted. The word on the street is that AD Brandon is working overtime trying to rehabilitate LC reputation with M Alumni Clubs around the world! In the Army we call this treason! M is no different than Penn State - subsitute a phony internally trumped up NCAA investigation instead sexual abuse of minor!! Have you read John U Bacons Book! If not you should! Go Blue beat Nebraska and beat the Bucks!

Big question will be as M73 brought up. I imagine the crowd will treat him extremely well with loud cheers, and well deserved. The situation as described in the book sure does tarnish him a bit, though. My guess is that the Michigan faithful will not care.

Oh, I love it - honoring him for our well-deserved national championship right in front of the undeserving "championship" team on the other side of the field. We should send Tom Osborne some tickets to see this!

A well deserved award for a great Michigan coach. He lead Michigan to two of their greatest season's not only in my lifetime, but ever. Also, his dominance of MSU, PSU, Wisconsin, pre-Tressel/tattoo gate OSU, and the SEC are very impressive. Great job, Coach!

So how many of the 115,000 fans in attendance Saturday will have read John U Bacon's book? I'm betting there will be some boo birds when they introduce Carr. If the book is true (I don't have any reason to believe otherwise), then Carr sure did more to hinder RRod than help him.
