Josh Furman reinstated to Michigan football team 4 days after being cleared of charges

Suspended safety Josh Furman has been reinstated to the Michigan football team, according to a release issued by the school.

Furman didn't participate in the Wolverines' spring camp after he was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic violence, assault and battery and illegal entry.

He was cleared of those charges Thursday, but coach Brady Hoke said at the time his status with the team was still being evaluated.

Four days later, he's back.

“After allowing the judicial process to run its course and evaluating the situation, we have reinstated Josh as a member of our team," Hoke said in a statement. "We met multiple times over the past few months and Josh understands the responsibilities and expectations that come with being a football student-athlete at the University of Michigan.

“It is our job to make sure he continues to grow and mature off the field as well as on the field.”
