Defensive lineman Chris Rock leaves Michigan football team, spokesman confirms

A reason was not given for his departure, which was first reported on Twitter by The Wolverine.

Rock was a 6-foot-5, 267-pound defensive end from Columbus, Ohio. He did not play last year, and was not expected to factor into the rotation next year.

Rock is the 13th player to leave the program early since the arrival of Brady Hoke, joining:

• Tight end Christopher Barnett (unknown)
• Linebacker Kellen Jones (Oklahoma, then Clemson)

• Receiver Terrence Robinson (forewent fifth year)
• Defensive end Chris Rock (unknown)
