PLB Thanks for your concern regarding Coach Hoke's health and well being. Bo had stress related health issues and he wasn't overweight. Bo's physical heart couldn't match his Michigan "heart". But he managed to hang in there a long time after his first attack. There are better medicines now and the importance of diet are better understood so hopefully Coach Hoke will match Bo's and Coach Carr's longevity as the leader of Michigan Football. He does look tired but people who have a lot to do and a short time to do it frequently have the same look. Go Blue TiM

Bo was overweight before he came to Michigan in fact quite overweight, the article came about because of Brady's weight issues. Bo enjoyed a good cigar and loved a good hamburger but only on rare occasions and generally not around Millie. Bo lost his weight for obvious reasons. Some of you only remember Bo at Michigan. Believe me when I say Bo had another life long before he came to Michigan. Bo was also quite the ladies man. A lot of boys and girls think Bo's life started and ended at Michigan, not so. Bo would have been the coach for Ohio State if Woody Hayes would have left soon enough like he indicated to Bo that he would. Woody led Bo to believe that he Woody was going to retire before to long and the job would be Bo's. Bo was a, "Ohio Man" long before he was a, "Michigan Man". That, "michigan man" stuff was just something (Legacy) Bo created for himself.

I believe Bo was quite overweight at one time while he was coaching college ball.

I agree with portage, I'm always impressed with how Brady handles himself and represents Michigan football. I think Brady will end up being a good coach but may struggle a little bit this year, 7-8 wins depending on how quickly the players pick up the changes in the system and the defense can learn the new schemes. I also thing the defense will be improved just by getting good coaching and working on fundamentals. I'm excited to see what the season brings. GO BLUE!!!!

Brady Hoke for President. Geez I don't think the guy even used a monitor and his answers were awe inspiring. This guy, Brady is going to represent Mich. well and I like his attitude. Now, if he can coach as well as he can talk Mich. is in the money for the future. Brady needs to drop a few pounds he's not a youngster and the demands on a head coach are stressful on the blood pressure hence the heart. We had 1 coach that became an example of the stressfulness of being a head coach, that's right boys and girls, I'm talking about our great Bo Schembechler. Go Blue!
