Brady Hoke, Denard Robinson and Jordan Kovacs discuss Michigan's 42-24 win at Northwestern

By Nick Baumgardner

It didn't start out pretty, but that didn't matter.

Michigan junior quarterback Denard Robinson threw for 337 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions and the defense pitched a second-half shutout in a 42-24 win at Northwestern.

The Wolverines improved to 6-0, 2-0 in Big Ten play and will head to Michigan State on Saturday.

I think the comment from Hoke on how his team "respects" and "will play for each other" says an awful, awful lot. Don't you both agree?

You know Nick, I can't predict with absolute accuracy what our conference record will be. We may end up with a W-L record barely better than last year. But what I do know is that this squad...with this coaching staff...with this enthusiasm...with this 'team' attitude....is worlds better than last years group! Same young men...different coaching staff. Now pardon me while I put on my sunglasses and ponder the future..............

With this coaching staff in place and with two or three years of recruiting, this Michigan football team could be downright scary.

7718...in case you haven't noticed, he IS winning now. In fact, only half way through his first season he's already done 3 games better than RR in his first year.

Why wait another three years? Why shouldn't he be expected to win now..."this is Michigan"

"Fundamentals and techniques and doing it better..." Without that, no scheme on earth matters. Great job, coach!
