Thanks for the link ... that helps set proper context. From the radio segment we learn from the radio caller that in an upcoming book there are strong allegations about the behavior of Lloyd Carr when Rich Rodriguez was coach. The caller gave two examples: telling recruits not to come to Michigan, and telling players to transfer. I presume the latter is in reference to Ryan Mallett. Tim Brando then went on to say that Bill Martin (AD at time of RR hire) "botched the whole Les Miles thing," then went on to say that the book will be "spot on." In the interest of objective discussion, we must acknowledge a few things: (1) Until the book comes out or we see pre-publication releases, what is in the book is all supposition (2) Something published in a book does not necessarily make it true. So allegations against Lloyd Carr in the book may well be original speculation repackaged as "fact" for the book. This happens a fair amount. Whether it's true in this case I don't yet know. (3) If the source of these allegations is Rodriguez himself then we have to hold those allegations up to at least some scrutiny. Multiple sources of corroboration would be good; documented sources of information would be better. (4) Footnoted sources that turn out to be someone's speculation printed in a newspaper column do not necessarily make them "fact." See #2. I am not saying Lloyd Carr is innocent. I am simply saying there is nothing from those few moments of the radio program that would serve to convict ... or acquit.

After listening to Tim Brando at CBS Sports today & with what I have been reading & hearing about LC I think it is safe to say he will never be getting called a Legend or be getting anymore HOF honors. I would go so far as to say his actions have tarnished him forever.

First -- spelling out "Lloyd Carr" is not difficult. And it makes establishing the context of your post easier. Second -- do you have a link? Or a summary of what was said? Or is this just idle anti-Carrism that finds its way onto this site from time to time?

Let's be honest ... the Big 10's two more iconic personalities of the last 50 years are Bo and Woody. So let's just throw this silly "Leaders" and "Legends" thing out and rename the divisions "Bo" and "Woody." Honestly.

I think you two have something there. Anything but Legends and Leaders. ... Anything.

With respect to just football I agree. Overall though the likes of Izzo and Bobby Knight come to mind in addition to the gentelman you mentioned.

Whoa Nellie! It'll be worth watching just because Keith Jackson is the narrator. OTH: I think the Big 10 producers of this show should reconsider featuring that old coach from that school in Ohio because: he got fired for punching a player on the other team during a bowl game on national television. See, someone should talk to the boys producing such shows: they need to be talked to about featuring CLASS CHARACTERS in the league's history. Anyone who gives air time to class-less characters in the league's history may be considered to be classless themselves - and - any dummy knows the Big Ten doesn't want its image marred by stupid misjudgments like that.

I hope they don't replay this after 11:00 pm, because nothing good ever happens after 11:00 pm.
