Can Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and the rest of the Wolverines win one more?

Melanie Maxwell | AnnArbor.com

The University of Michigan Wolverines just keep proving their doubters wrong.

After Saturday's win over Syracuse in Atlanta, the team is on a roll as it heads into the championship game on Monday.

What do you think? Can the Wolverines take that final step?

I didn't pick them to get past VCU in my bracket, and after that I expected them to lose to Kansas, then Florida, then Syracuse. You all saw how those games came out ... so now I'm definitely picking them to lose to Louisville. Keep proving me wrong, guys.

Has any NCAA tournament winner ever beat four previous national champion coaches in the same tournament? 1. Shocka Smart - VCU - highly sought after coach by other universities. 2. Bill Self - Kansas - won a national title 2008 3. Billy Donovan - Florida - won national titles in 2006 & 2007 4. Jim Boeheim - Syracuse - won national title in 2003 5. Rick Pintino - Kentuckyn- won national title in 1996 Go Coach Beilein and Go Blue

Not a big basketball fan but couldn't resist watching this game. I too worried when the Wolverines got 12 points ahead with about 7 minutes to play and took on the "lets just hang on to our lead" look on the floor. By the time the game clock ran down to 29 seconds, it looked like disaster looming. Do NOT do that to us again, Wolverines! ;-)

Hope coach takes the advise. Play to win, play to blow them out.

As long as they don't try to run out the clock again. I could feel it slipping away. They need to keep driving for the basket in the closing moments, never take your foot off the gas.

That was kind of scary. Like the air went out of the ball.

My motto about this basketball teams NCAA tournament run is: Seeing is believing. Some of our localA2 media pundits think Michigan defend Louisville d keep out of the paint. You have to wonder how fresh, will either team be after both had to play hard until the clock ran out in the Saturday night games. This team has been stunning thus far. Yes, I think Michigan can take the final step. Remember, they only have to win by one point. GO BLUE!!

This is such a great opportunity for Michigan, for the University, for the students, and for the recruits - both academically and athletically. In the last 15 months, Michigan football was the only B10 team to win a BCS Bowl game (2012 Sugar Bowl), and now the basketball team is playing for a national title. Proving to be the Big Tens best teams over that span is critical for all young student athletes watching in America. Having them visit the city and the university, to see the academic programs and athletic programs takes care of itself. Priceless.
