Michigan will play home-and-home basketball series with Bradley
Bradley basketball coach Geno Ford spilled what he called "the worst-kept secret in town" on Tuesday, announcing that his Braves will play a home-and-home series with Michigan beginning in Ann Arbor this December.
Ford leaked information of a "verbal agreement" with the Wolverines during an online chat on the Peoria Journal Star website.
"We will not be able to release anything until former contracts are signed, but we are very appreciative that (Michigan coach John) Beilein thinks enough of our program to play a game in our building.”
There will be a familar face on the sidelines for those games. Beilein's son, Patrick Beilein, is the new director of basketball operations at Bradley.
Patrick Beilein was on Michigan's staff as a graduate assistant for two years before accepting an assistant coach position at Dartmouth last season.
Michigan's schedule for 2011-12 has not been released. John Beilein did confirm to AnnArbor.com that the Wolverines will play Oakland at The Palace of Auburn Hills this season, although a date had not been determined.
The Wolverines will also open the season at the Maui Invitational along with Duke, Georgetown, Kansas, Tennessee, Memphis, UCLA and host Chaminade.

Excellent. The schedule is getting tough enough. It's good to have a team that will be OK on the computer, but not a real threat to an top-25 team. Assuming, of course, that Michigan has turned the corner to top-25 status. They don't really need another tough team this season because they will face three in Maui.
