Michigan basketball coach John Beilein disappointed in his team's second half

By Michael Rothstein

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein did not like what he saw from the Wolverines on Tuesday in the second half of an 80-57 loss to Purdue.

There were breakdowns defensively, a lack of hustle and effort and team that just looked worn down by Purdue forward JaJuan Johnson.

How disappointed was he? Beilein explains after the jump. Purdue coach Matt Painter also speaks, explaining why D.J. Byrd started in place of Kelsey Barlow.

OSU BEEBUTT The only time Tressle ever does anything is when his kids get caught red handed. I remember a younger man named Carpenter choking the Wisconsin QB out of the game on National TV and Tress gave him a game or two. He probably spent the time with Maurice driving around in the specially financed car (0 down + 0 payments) thumping on Pizza Delivery folks (i. e. OSU graduates).

Or maybe Tressel should take a page out of Beline's book. "Violate core values" gets you 4 minutes and 5 seconds of bench time. I like that one better, ill call Tress and the NCAA in the morning.

michboy40 What confusion? Confusion about whether they were his or not? are the big ten rings given like "heres YOUR ring" or "heres A ring, it doesnt really belong to you and we might ask for it back some day"? Dan Maybe Pryor can sell one of his rings to Rodriguez or Shoelace, Thats the only way they will ever get a hold of one. Artichoke OSU can play the entire season without their #1 Quarterback, #1 Wide Receiver, #1 Running Back, #1 O Lineman and still win the Big Ten next year. Any body heard of a young kid named Braxton Miller? Hint hint, the number one quarterback in highschool? TOSU will be just fine.

Hey OSUisbetter, Pryor called and wants his rings back. Apparently there was some confusion regarding this transaction?

Good one, OSU Bee-Butter, but at least we haven't officially removed ourselves from REGULAR season FOOTBALL play in 2011...

Am I ever grateful that I didn't shell out any cash let alone pay $3.19 a gallon to go watch that thrashing. A not so great start to the Big Ten schedule and earning some respect toward attending the "Big Dance". I join you in your disappointment JB. We sure could have used Manny today. Oh that's right, we have better team cohesiveness without him.
