Michigan basketball wins its European tour finale, 80-74, over Mons
Michigan basketball saved its best game for its final one.
The Wolverines went into their final game of a four-game trip to Belgium against Mons having lost the first three, two by double digits. In the finale, though, they led almost all the way en route to an 80-74 win.
Michigan was led by sophomore guard Matt Vogrich, who scored 22 points on 8 of 11 shooting, including 4 of 7 on 3-point attempts.
Vogrich also had seven rebounds.
Freshman Tim Hardaway Jr. added 14 points and junior forward Zack Novak had nine. Hardaway Jr. led Michigan with an 11.8-point scoring average on the four-game tour.
Michigan shot 39.3 percent from the 3-point line and 55.2 percent from the field.
For Vogrich, it was his best performance in a Michigan uniform. The Lake Forest, Ill. native scored 46 points all of last season. He also led Michigan in rebounding on the four-game tour with 4.5 a game.

I want to see them do well, and winning the finale on this overseas trip should help them tremendously. But I'm not reassured by Vogrich leading the team in rebounding. UM consistently gets Killed on the glass and can't defend the paint due to a lack of size inside. And not just height, you need guys with some big butts to root out the other teams post players. If not height than bulk. That is a glaring weakness that needs to be shored up.

There you go! Nothing wrong with this tour. It was a great experience for the team and the individuals on the team.
