Illinois by ten points or more. This is a road game and Illinois is much better than their recent record.

I was looking at some of the Big 10 basketball stats. Surprisingly, Illinois does not have many top scorers. We have the assist leader and more solid three point shooters. Morgan is becoming a legitimate post player with one of best shooting percentages in the league. On paper we could win this. But will we? Both teams need the win because the next series of games only get tougher. If I were a betting person, I would give the edge to Illinois because of the home advantage and the toughness of McCamey in big games.

Really. HEAVEN FORBID anyone would want to have an opinion on SPORTS. There are plenty of articles about all of your hot-button issues. In case you haven't noticed, there is no shortage of coverage on any of those issues, whether local, national, or global, on the internet. A2 dot com's job is to engage and interest their readers, not write about dry, boring stuff that you can get in myriad other places all the time. Why should they spend valuable resources to have locals write about national things you can get elsewhere? Better yet, if the other issues are so important, why did you waste your valuable time complaining about it here when you could have been finding the answers you seek elsewhere? Great job, a2 dot com; keep up the good work.

Why are sports polls frequently the lead story on the opinion page? How about something important instead? Borders closing Downtown development issues Ann Arbor politics Or if you prefer something not necessarily local: War in Iraq Budget deficit Political change in Egypt War in Afghanistan Let's leave sports in the sports section.

I voted for Illinois in a close one, but it could just as easily go the other way. I hope MIchigan can pull off a road win against a top half team, that would be nice for the resume.
