How would you grade the Michigan basketball team's season?
By AnnArbor.com Staff
Does a Michigan basketball season that started with no seniors and ended with 21 victories and a 73-71 loss to No. 1-seeded Duke in the NCAA tournament impress you?
Or does a six-game losing streak and a .500 record in the Big Ten Conference bring down your opinion of the Wolverines' season?
Take our poll and grade the Michigan basketball team's season:

sweet_life: Morris didn't make the wrong decision, it was a good shot. But with the team being in foul trouble, our odds in winning in overtime were probably NOT in our favor. Not being as talented and experienced as Duke, and Michigan had the opportunity for the kill, they should take the three.

Wow. To be able to whine about that after what the team accomplished this past season is mind-boggling (but not surprising in Ann Arbor, unfortunately).

I was very impressed with 2 things this year. Number 1: We beat MSU twice; this will help the recruiting process. Number 2: We nearly beat Duke and it was extremely close. Thousands of recruits and their parents watched this game and this will open their eyes to Michigans BB program.

I love this team!! They are a great bunch of guys and a joy to watch. They matured so much over the year and I'm very proud of them. They played with such determination and heart. I already can't wait for next year! GO BLUE!!!!!

If you saw Beilein in the post game presser,he agreed with Morris to take that runner! said he had no problems with it at all.. The coach stands behind his players! Its easy for us fans to criticize from our recliners drinking a beer, then being in the heat of the moment on the floor with a few seconds left on the clock.. Morris had a great game, and Duke could not stop him!, he'll get that shot to fall in the future,he's a very determined player... GO BLUE..

This season was the most fun I've had watching Michigan basketball in years. These kids played with heart and tenacity. As a fan, I couldn't ask for anything else.

Being #3 nationally at assists doesn't mean passing - it means making smart decsions about passing. Since you weren't on the floor and couldn't see what he saw, how can you be so sure he made the wrong decision?

As I stated last week, & I apologized to Coach Beilein, after they started 1-6 in the Big Ten, I thought we had another Rich Rod situation. A very good season. Did anyone in the postgame news conference asked why Morris went for the tie, instead of kicking the ball out to Novak, or Hardaway for a game winning 3?

Beilein told Morris in the last huddle that if they were only down two after the free throws that Morris should take it to the hole. Michigan didn't have a timeout to set up a play and found themselves down two after the second free throw was missed. Morris did was he was told, took a high percentage shot for him, and unfortunately, it just missed.

to sweet_life: Morris #3 nationally in assists - that means passing the ball to someone else...

I always find it amazing that fans can so easily second-guess the instantaneous decisions made by the players on the court. Morris is one of the top point guards in the Big 10 , #3 nationally in assists. Any one of his other options may have also gone bad - and you would be blaming him then also. He didn't make a mistake - he just missed a shot that he usually makes.

Hardaway was on the wing, wide open for a dunk to send it to overtime

Because that was the higher percentage shot - one that Morris seldom misses.

They exceeded expectations. They developed heart and tenacity and demonstrated resolve. I think they are headed in the right direction! They have a lot of work to do but they should be proud!

"Third round" of the tournament... ha! Not to diminish the accomplishments of the Wolverines on their great season, but the NCAA's expansion of the tournament is BS - especially when 64 out of 68 teams make it to the "second" round.
