Three former Michigan athletes qualify for Canadian Olympic track team
Three former Michigan track athletes qualified for the 2012 Olympics at the Canadian Olympic Trials on Friday.
Nicole Forrester, who competed at Michigan from 1996-99, won the high jump at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary to earn a spot in London.
Nate Brannan (2002-05), a volunteer coach at Michigan, won the men’s 1,500-meter run to earn his second Olympics appearance. In 2008, the 11-time All-American didn’t advance from the semifinal round.
Nicole (Edwards) Sifuentes (2005-08) punched her ticket with a third-place finish in the women’s 1,500-meter run.
